Hot pot is very popular in Asia, a general rule of thumb is to have bland broth and spicy dips. The food is cooked and served in a large communal pot, usually in the middle of the table so everybody can reach it easily. In Asia they have special pots that contains both a plain and simpel broth and a spicy broth in one pot. When eating hot pot you orden a lot of fresh and uncooked "side dishes" like partially froozen meat thats been cut into paper thin slices, no more than 1/4-inch thick meat, veggies, prawn, tofu, fresh mushrooms, transparent noodles and lots of variety of blander dipping sauces, such as soy sauce, hot mustard and other spicy dips so that everyone can season the food according to their own tastes. Perfect to have on a cold winter day.
